Finals Days Results
Congratulations to all of the teams on Finals Day. The quality of touch rugby being played over the last season has been on a steady improvement. A great example of that was shown in the second semi-final where The Opposition I upset the season favourites and the reigning champions NCBIS.
The feedback for a tournament for Friday, June the 3rd has not been positive so we will unfortunately be canceling the tournament.
We would like to wish you all a great summer. For those moving on from Cairo good luck in your future endeavors and for those staying we will see you in the next academic year.
The results for this season are:
1. Pumba
2. The Opposition I
3. NCBIS
4. Cola Crocs
5. Cougars
6. Timon
7. The Opposition II
Equal 8th. Baby Crocs and Rehab Rebels

Players, Non-registered Players and Refereeing
The important Finals Day is now upon us. There are a couple of issues that need to addressed for Finals Day.
Playing for another team
Players are NOT allowed to double up for a team that they have not registered for. If players double up the team they fill in for will forfeit the game and it will only be a social game.
Non-registered Players
Non-registered will need to pay 20LE to play. There are a number of new players who have joined our competition. We do not want stifle anyone's enthusiasm to play and we definitely welcome any new players however it is only fair that some form of payment be made to participate in the competition.
Refereeing
The referees have been briefed and will be stricter on administering the games laws. They will focus on: making the 5 metres, playing the ball correctly and on the mark. There will also be two referees throughout the day.

ANZAC Touch Rugby this Friday the 6th of May
For all of those interested in playing this Friday in the ANZAC Touch here is all of the important information.
If you would like to view the video we created for this event please click on the following link ANZAC Touch 2011
We will have an Australian (Gold and/or Green Playing Shirt), New Zealand (Black Playing Shirt) and hopefully a couple more teams. The draw will depend on how many teams will be made on the day. This will also determine how long of a day we will have. The Honourable Rene Wilson donated a trophy to be played for by the best Australian and best New Zealand team. Last year it was a close game that came down to a last second try to the New Zealanders.
Venue: NCBIS (http://www.ncbis.org/ for the address)
9:20am: Rememberance to ANZACS - Ode, The Last Post and one minute silence.
9:30am: Games start.
We will be playing New Zealand and Australian music throughout the day. There will be the usual BBQ and please remember there is the school pool to go for a swim at some point in the day.
This is going to be a great day in remembrance of our fallen ANZAC heroes and a chance for some expat rivalry.
THERE IS A BUS AT MGM AT 8:30am AND WILL RETURN AROUND 1:30pm TO MAADI.
If you have any questions please ask.
Thanks,
nile.touch
Note: There is also the annual ANZAC league game being played at the Gold Coast on our Friday morning.

ANZAC Touch, End of Season Function, One Day Tournament and nile.touch First Finals Day Draw
Hi Everyone,
We hope you all had a great break. We have a couple of important things to talk about so we apologise for the long email in advance.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
ANZAC Touch Tournament
This Friday the 6th of May we will be running the ANZAC tournament with teams made up with expats from Australia, New Zealand and potentially some other teams from around the world. We will be starting the games at 9:30am to ensure enough time to finish early. If you would like to participate please RSVP by replying this email.
End of 2010/2011Season Function
We will have our end of season on Friday the 13th of May. RSVPing is important so we can create a list and you are able to get a free meal and use the bar tab. The last day to RSVP will be this Saturday, May the 7th.
If you would like to RSVP for this please email nile.touch or verbally RSVP to either Scott Rouse or Tao David at touch this week.
nile.touch One Day Touch Rugby Tournament
On June 3rd we will be running a one day touch rugby tournament at the American International School in New Cairo. We will take team registrations on the last finals day, Friday 13th of May. The costs are 800LE per team, which allows the opportunity to have a lot of players and potentially pay less. The registration will go towards the prize giving function at the BCA following the tournament. Any profit will be put back into nile.touch or given to charity. Please remember you do not have to have the same teams as usual you can make new teams for the tournament - it is completely up to you.
Normal nile.touch this SATURDAY 7TH OF MAY AT 9:15AM
We have based the finals games on a double elimination format basing the draw on our Week Four table. Most teams will have two games except for the "Losers of Round Four and Five" and the "Winner of Round Six and Loser of Round Three." This is to ensure more interest for the finals day next week and once these teams lose they will be eliminated. We would rather have teams playing two games next week rather than this week.
